Bharti Airtel and Chinese telecom company announced to work together to make India’s first 5G network experiment under an inspection service at the former’s network experience centre in Manesar, Gurgaon.

The Director, Abhay Savargaonkar said that the experiment is a small but worth step in the journey of new generation 5G mobile network, with this experiment it provides the data speed of 100 times faster than current 4G connection. “The company pushing soon to start collaboration towards 5G interoperability and development testing (IODT) construct on the 3GPP (3rd Generation Partnership Project among associations of telecommunications associations to set 5G new radio standards) R15 standards”.
5G services to users by 2020
India plans to provide 5G services to users by 2020 and to reach that target, the government has a high-level discussion in September to estimate and establish roadmaps and work plans to bring in the latest technology in the country. Telecom secretary Aruna Sundararajan recently announced that the telecom department was supposed to settle a roadmap for 5G services by June this year.
Airtel’s works almost 5G technology isn’t confined to its collaboration with telecom equipment merchants such as Ericsson and Nokia.
It recently joined into an important collaboration with South Korean firm SK Telecom to leverage the latter’s expertise to create superior telecom network and collectively operate in advancing 5G technology, the network runs virtualization (NFV), software-defined networking (SDN) and the Internet of Objects.
