The Nothing Phone (3a) series is set to launch on March 4, 2025, with the lineup including the Phone (3a) and Phone (3a) Pro models. Both devices feature a semi-transparent design with Glyph lighting and a 6.77-inch 120Hz AMOLED display. They are powered by the Snapdragon 7s Gen 3 processor. The primary distinction between the two models lies in their camera configurations:
- Phone (3a): Equipped with a 50MP main camera, a 50MP telephoto lens offering 2x optical zoom, and an 8MP ultrawide camera. The front-facing camera is 32MP. It will be available in 8GB/128GB and 12GB/256GB variants. The expected starting price is approximately INR 25,000.
- Phone (3a) Pro: Features a 50MP main camera, a 50MP periscope telephoto lens with 3x optical zoom, and an 8MP ultrawide camera. The selfie camera is 50MP. This model comes with 12GB RAM and 256GB storage. The anticipated starting price is around INR 30,000.
Both phones maintain the brand’s signature transparent back design with distinctive Glyph lighting. They also introduce a new side button, speculated to provide quick access to AI-powered features such as audio transcription and text summarization.
Design and Display
Both models maintain Nothing’s signature semi-transparent back panel complemented by distinctive Glyph lighting. The Phone (3a) Pro, in particular, showcases a prominent circular camera module housing three sensors, including a periscope lens, which has sparked mixed reactions due to its unconventional design. The devices are equipped with a 6.77-inch AMOLED LTPS display, supporting a 120Hz refresh rate and offering up to 3000 nits peak brightness.
Performance and Hardware
Under the hood, both phones are powered by the Snapdragon 7s Gen 3 processor. The Phone (3a) offers configurations of 8GB RAM with 128GB storage and 12GB RAM with 256GB storage, while the Phone (3a) Pro comes exclusively with 12GB RAM and 256GB storage. Both models are equipped with a 5,000mAh battery supporting 45W fast charging.
In a unique marketing move, Nothing showcased the Phone (3a) in an unboxing video conducted by a humanoid robot named NeoGamma, developed by the Norwegian company ‘1x’. Additionally, the company released a video titled ‘The SECRETS behind Phone (3a)’, offering insights into the design process and development of the device.
The official unveiling is scheduled for March 4, 2025, during the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona. The devices will be available in India through Flipkart.
