Facebook Can Track the Users Even If They Opt-Out of Tracking

Facebook can locate where users are regardless of whether they quit having their whereabouts followed, the organization revealed in a letter sent to US senators. In the message, which was generally shared via social networking sites Tuesday, Facebook explained ways it can figure out where individuals are after they have chosen not to allow the location with the organization.

The social networking giant, which was reacting to a request for data by two representatives, fought that realizing a user’s whereabouts has benefits running from showing advertisements for nearby by shops to battling hackers.

Facebook said that clues for figuring out user’s information include being tagged in a photograph at a particular spot or a registration in an area, for example, at a cafe for a meeting with friends.

Individuals may share a location for purchasers at a shopping segment at Facebook, or just remember it for their profile data. Alongside area information in posts by users, gadgets connecting with the Internet are given IP addresses and a user’s whereabouts would then be able to be noted.

Facebook said knowing a user’s location causes it and other Internet firms to ensure accounts by detecting when suspicious login behavior occurs, for example, by anybody in South America when a user lives in Europe.
