Qualcomm Snapdragon 675 SoC Revealed Brings Along Enhanced Gaming And Better Camera

In an effort to increase its mid-range smartphone system-on-chip (SoC) series, Qualcomm has now revealed a new platform which is Snapdragon 675. This platform comes as an update of Snapdragon 670 SoC which was launched in August as an update to its predecessor Snapdragon 660. This chip is made using 11nm LPP technology, an octa-core Kryo 460 CPU and Adreno 612 GPU. there are basically three areas that Snapdragon 675 covers as the company claims, Gaming, Photography and Artificial Intelligence.

This new chip also supports Qualcomm Quick Charge 4+ technology which came last year to provide a fast charging experience better than the previous Quick Charging versions. The company specifically revealed that the Quick Charge technology is now able to power more than 1,000 devices, accessors and control worldwide. According to the claims by Qualcomm, when compared to Snapdragon 670, the new Snapdragon 675 SoC offers 30 per cent faster game launch time. Also, the chip provides 35 per cent faster web browsing and 20 per cent faster music launch.

If we talk about imaging, Qualcomm Snapdragon 675 can support up to three rear camera sensors with 5x optical zoom. Also, there are built-in enhancements to support the portrait mode, Bokeh effects and enable HDR to reduce noise and enhance colours. Snapdragon 675 also supports face unlock features. Qualcomm claims that this new chip also allows mobile payment security and work along with technologies like Megvii (Face++), NetEase, SenseTime, Thundersoft and Trio AI.

Furthermore, Snapdragon 675 SoC supports up to full HD+ display panels, 8GB 1866MHz LPDDR4x RAM, GPS Glonass, BeiDuo and tracking and sensor-assisted navigation. Also, the Quick Charger can charge a smartphone battery from zero to 50 per cent in around 15 minutes. The new Snapdragon 675 is available to the manufacturers but the devices with Snapdragon 675 SoC are expected to launch in the first half of the year 2019.
